About Intellectus Capital
Intellectus Capital is an independent corporate advisory firm advising founders, businesses, and investors on M&A, capital raising, and strategic transactions across the mid-market.
We operate through a focused, high conviction model where advice is grounded in clarity of thought and delivered in a manner that is both practical and immediately actionable. Our approach prioritises substance over process, combining rigorous analysis with sound judgement, and ensuring that complexity is translated into clear and usable insight for decision-makers.
The firm is being built deliberately, with an emphasis on precision, accountability, and long-term alignment. Our objective is to create a platform that evolves alongside the market and the individuals within it.
The Opportunity
This is not a conventional role.
You will work directly on live transactions while contributing to the development of the firm’s capabilities, processes, and intellectual capital.
In a lean environment, access is not staged. It is expected to be engaged with early and with intent. This includes exposure to client management and stakeholder interactions, transaction structuring and execution, and business development and origination thinking.
The role is designed for individuals who think in terms of trajectory rather than title. It will suit those who value early responsibility, the opportunity to develop judgement through experience, and the ability to contribute to building something still taking shape.
The engagement will begin on a flexible basis, typically two to three days per week, with scope to evolve meaningfully over time.
What You’ll Work On
Your responsibilities will span both transaction execution and firm capability building.
Transaction Execution
- Financial analysis, valuation, and financial modelling
- Preparation of client materials and transaction documentation
- Industry and company research
- Supporting due diligence and execution processes
Sector exposure includes Telecom, Media and Technology, Industrials, Circular Economy and Environmental Services, Consumer and Retail, and Healthcare.
Product exposure includes M&A as the primary focus, alongside capital raising and broader strategic advisory mandates, including engagement with financial sponsors.
Platform and Capability Building
- Developing more effective approaches to analysis and execution workflows
- Creating internal tools, templates, and repeatable frameworks
- Supporting sector insights and thematic work
- Contributing to how the firm engages with clients and markets
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking individuals who combine technical capability with breadth of thinking.
Core Capabilities
- Strong grounding in finance, accounting, and valuation
- Financial modelling proficiency
- High attention to detail and intellectual discipline
- Ability to think clearly and independently through complex situations
Breadth and Edge
We particularly value candidates who operate at the intersection of disciplines, including combinations of finance, technology and data, legal and regulatory understanding, and broader social sciences.
Our aim is to build a team capable of contextual thinking, not just technical execution.
Additional strengths include comfort working with technology and evolving tools as part of everyday workflow, an interest in improving systems and approaches rather than simply applying them, and curiosity that extends beyond immediate deliverables.
Profile
- Final year undergraduate, postgraduate student, or recent graduate
- Strong academic track record
- Demonstrated initiatives through work, projects, or other pursuits
We value diversity of perspectives and are building a team where different ways of thinking are actively encouraged.
Why This Role
This role is designed for individuals who are motivated by substance over structure, who develop quickly when given ownership and accountability, and who take a long-term view on capability and career trajectory.
You will gain direct exposure to live transactions and decision-making processes, early access to client interactions and strategic discussions, and the opportunity to contribute to building a firm rather than simply operating within one.
As the platform evolves, there is a clear pathway for deeper and more sustained involvement for those who contribute meaningfully.
